About the Moss Stitch
The special stitch used in this pattern is the Moss Stitch, which is essentially chaining 1 and working a sc in the ch 1 space of the previous row. I have written out how to work it up in Rows 2 & 3, and then simply refer to it as "Moss Stitch" thereafter.
The Moss Stitch is similar to the Mesh Stitch. Click here to learn more about the mesh stitch in my Simple Mesh Coaster pattern.
Striped Moss Christmas Lapghan

To make the striped version, switch colors every 2 rows.
If you prefer to make a different size, simply chain an even number of stitches then work the pattern as written.
Work more or less rows if you'd like your washcloth longer or shorter.
